Giving Back to Project Linus
Provide security through blankets
My son was born on December 21 2007 and was in the NICU for 2 weeks. I was not feeling well enough to go see him in the hospital on Christmas but when I came the next day he had a beautiful handmade Christmas quilt on his bed from Project Linus. I can’t describe how wonderful it made me feel and know others in need will find this just as comforting.
With chapters in all 50 states, Project Linus continues to grow. Their mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” Blankets are collected locally and distributed to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere that a child might be in need of a big hug.
