Classic tangy, sweet and delicious barbecue sauce from scratch
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
- ½ onion roughly chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 cup homemade ketchup
- ¼ cup molasses
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 Tablespoons Lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat.
- Add garlic and onions and sauté for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low.
- Add ketchup, molasses, honey, lemon juice and mustard.
- Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Add salt to taste.
