Simple & Delicious Breakfast Smoothie Recipe
A quick and healthy breakfast recipe with very little prep.
Only four essential ingredients for balanced nutrition – oranges, rolled oats, almond milk and bananas.
No milk in the creamsicle smoothie? Here’s the thing. It’s not about the milk, or even the dairy milk alternative you use. I personally believe that the secret to the creamy and thick, milk-shake-rivaling smoothie is frozen banana. It takes a backseat to stronger flavors and adds a texture that satisfies even the most indulgent cravings.
Breakfast Smoothie Magic
The Blender Girl developed this recipe for us and it’s changed our lives. After you try it for the first time, you’ll be asking yourself two questions. And they go like this:
- How is this breakfast and not dessert? And,
- How can something that tastes like dessert be HEALTHY?
The answer isn’t magic, but it sure does feel like it. It’s what a few incremental changes can do to change your overall health, and your perception of the term “healthy” as it relates to food, taste and indulgence. This revelation was one that I shared with my kids and my husband and we continue be reminded of each time this smoothie makes a cameo in our kitchen (which, by the way, is weekly).
HEALTH BENEFITS
On top of being loaded with vitamin C, the rolled oats in this smoothie add an extra layer of fiber and healthy carbohydrates that will keep you feeling satisfied through your morning hustle.
