I have to admit, I feel a little deflated this morning. I’ve made some really positive changes on the pledge but the one thing I wanted for myself was to lose five pounds before my trip to Australia.
- I’m drinking more water; up from one glass a week to a few glass a day
- I have been on time to my appointments; huge win
- I have worked out 3 times a week; a major change from a sedentary 2013
I just haven’t lost those pesky five pounds and you know, that’s perfectly fine.
I feel better.
I am stronger from my weight workouts, more conscious of what is working for me and what isn’t and focused enough to continue to make the best choices for myself day by day. It’s not about the five pounds.
Feeling successful is about setting an intention for yourself that your efforts for a better life will be rewarded. Nothing we do is ever going to be “all boxed up” or perfect. There will be progress and there will be set backs but keeping an intention for yourself will allow you to come back to the center of what you want and how you wish to do better.
I’m not giving up on the idea of my best self but I am absolutely going to ENJOY the challenge, negotiate the set backs and plow through to my better life.
I invite you to pick one strong word or set of words to use as a guide for your annual intention.
Some of my words from the past few years…
- CREATE
- PERSIST
- EXPAND
- COLLABORATE
- ENJOY
- EXPLORE
Write it down. Post it up. Connect to your intention each morning by looking at your word and simply acknowledging your intent.
Big dreams require constant feeding.
Your intention is the powerful fuel you need. Make it count.
